Melira Anew

I know this is unrequited
So of course you'll be delighted
To hear it once again

I'll tell you once again
That I've held on to when
You were Melira Anew

And every dream I've had of you
I could come true
And oh so very close we flew
To that sun

Did I throw it all away?
Would you change your mind that day?
If I hadn't lost my mind

I admit that night I lost my mind
That will occur from time to time
But what I said was true

And every dream I've had of you
I imagine could come true
And oh so very close we flew
To the sun

Lust and love I have to quell
Even in some Grecian Hell
Wherein each night I lie with you

In which I fall in love with you
And you say you don't love me too
I would have enough

And every dream I have of you
I imagine will come true
So very, very close we flew
To that sun, O Melira Anew

Mascara

Did I ever tell you
About the time I was in the hospital
When my mom mentioned your name
And my heart started racing on the monitor?

I remember
When you were in the hospital
And you looked me in the eyes from your hospital bed
And said
"I don't want to get surge'd"

Fear.

I'll never tell you those things.
And you'll never know your mascara stains are still on my shirt.
They won't wash out.

My Fight with the Monstrous Evil Dream Spider

My Fight with a Giant Spider Monster Thing
by Kevin D. Barboro
Illustrated by Kevin D. Barboro, age 22

It had been a long night; a LONG night
Wherein although I slept alright,
I spent the whole thing in a fight;
Oh I'll tell you, what a sight

A spider with people for legs and grass on its head
Growing long and it led down its back like a mane
And oh, it had fire in its eyes; nine the size
Of a teacup plate. Guys: I'm telling you, t'was insane.

Why I deserved its ire, oh the ire,
How it thought that I had conspired
To harm it how I desire to know
But hate me it did, oh it did.
It hated my toes up to my eyelids
Down from its web it crawled and slid, and spoke:

"Fuck off!"
"No you!" I replied.
